Moon and Stars Wall Hanging

Here’s a cute little tutorial on how to make your own Moon and Stars soft wall hanging.
It can be used as a decoration piece for any room, over the bed or cot, hanging on a door or even from a light.

What you will need for the moon and stars:
• Two different types of fabric (or use the same on both sides, your choice)
• Scissors
• 4 pairs of buttons
• Thread
• Stuffing or wadding
• Card

What you will need for the mobile:
• A twig or stick
• Clear thread
• Decoration yarn

Step 1:

On your card draw three different sized stars and one moon
Step 2:
Place these onto one type of fabric (either one) and draw around leaving a cm gap from the card. Cut out.
Step 3:
Then place the fabric cut outs onto the other piece of fabric, draw around and cut out.
You should now be left with four pairs of cut outs
Step 4:
Pick out the buttons you will be using for each shapes eyes...
...and using your coloured thread, stitch the eyes on
Don’t forget to put eyes on both fabrics for the moon
Ready to be stitched
Step 5:
Turn the fabrics inside out so the buttons are in the inside and pin together
Step 6:
Stitch together about a cm from the edge. Make sure to leave a gap for stuffing
Step 7:
Turn inside out through the gap
Step 8:
Stuff through the gap so it is nicely padded...
And then stitch the gap shut discreetly
Step 9:
To make the mobile, simply stitch the clear thread through the shape and then tie to the stick
Cut off any straggling bits
Once you have all four on, tie the decorative yarn to each end of the stick and that’s it. Now you can go test where it looks best :)
