Our stay at The Bluebell Cottage

On the 19th of May Nathan and I celebrated 5 happy years together, and to mark this occasion we decided to rent out a cottage for three nights in the beautiful county of Donegal. The Bluebell Cottage was located just outside Donegal town, right in the Blue Stack Mountains...  it was so perfect.

The whole surrounding area of the cottage was breathtaking and so secluded, the perfect place to relax and take in the clean country air.

The Bluebell cottage itself was as enchanting as the landscape, bright, airy and as lovely and welcoming as the owners themselves... Carmel and Patsy.

We were so lucky to have got some sunshine while we were there, on a lovely clear day you can see for miles around the cottage.

Donegal Town was only a 15min car journey from the cottage, so it was handy for shops or a bite to eat or just for a day trip. It is also right next to Lough Eske which was very calm and picturesque.

We also decided to travel to the Slieve League Cliffs which was also a beautiful drive. On our way there we passed by the stunning fishing town of Killybegs, amazing view points in Largy, Kilcar and Carrick.

On the climb up to the Slieve League Cliffs there were some beautiful views, like this one of the rolls of land spotted with fields and houses...

But not as spectacular as the cliffs themselves

Windy! but nice and sunny...

We then saw the ran coming from a distance...
ruuun!  :)
After all the excitement of travelling around and viewing the surroundings we then spent a much deserved relaxing Anniversary night in the cottage with dvds, steak and champagne.

A perfect end to a perfect trip.
