St Patricks Irish Green Scones

Everythings green on Paddys Day... even SCONES!!

A St Patricks Day twist on a traditional recipe.. why not?

The recipe for these are below and I have also added the FREE PRINTABLES which can be found at the  bottom of this post so theres no excuse why you shouldn't have these on your Paddys Day table... Enjoy!

Each label has Irish one side and English on the other




Filled up with butter and marmalade mmm!
Ingredients:

  • 250g - SR Flour
  • 40g - Caster sugar
  • 75g - Butter
  • 3tbs - Milk
  • Pinch - Salt
  • tsp - Green food dye


Method:

1) In a mixing bowl put the flour and salt
2) Add the butter and mix until crumby (dont be afraid to use your hands)
3) Add the sugar and mix
4) Add the milk and colouring and mix until doughy
5) Knead in the bowl for a couple of minutes then place on a floured surface
6) Roll flat with a rolling pin (or glass) until an inch thick and cut circles
7) Place on a floured baking tray, baste with milk, sprinkle with flour and set in 190o oven for 10-12mins




Leave to cool.. print out the labels and then share and empress your loved ones
