Visit to London!!

I had a really good time listening to good music and visiting family outside of London. The gigs we saw were Finnish power metal band Sonata Arctica and (the very eccentric) Canadian musician that is Devin Townsend. It was my second time experiencing each band and it was brilliant to see them again, and in a more intimate setting.

Here we are all ready to go...

It also was great to see Nath’s family and catch up on news and life. It’s hard to keep in touch when we live so far apart, but I wouldn’t change them for the world :) and it makes it more special when we get the chance to travel over.

Spring is definitely in the air as we had lots of sun over the weekend, but not so much during the week as the rain is never far away in this part of the world. I am hoping to get stuck in to some crafting and baking soon to get us in the spring mood, so do watch this space.

Have a great Wednesday and last few days of March and I will see you soon :)

It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.

St Patricks Day! 2011

...Things have finally started to calm down from the Paddy’s Day celebrations. It was brilliant fun and thanks to you all who made an effort and joined us for the celebrations. I think I could honestly say it was my best Paddy’s Day so far :)

To start off St. Patricks Day myself and a few others went on a journey across the border of N. Ireland to the beautiful town of Moville in Co. Donegal, where there were lots of people celebrating the day with green hair, banners, parades and good old drinking and dancing in the street (couldn’t beat it).

The parade was great!! Lots of cheering, dancing, music and humorous floats that were really well organized, it definitely made the day… along with the Guinness.

ST PATRICKS DAY 2011 Seen and Love!

Well, it looks like the weather gods or St. Patrick himself has graced us with some beautiful sunny weather on this paddy’s day eve. Lets pray it stays the same for the main event tomorrow.

I hope you liked my Shamrock tutorial from yesterday and gave it a go. Here are a few more activities and fun things to keep us busy this St. Patrick’s day...

Shamrock Hair Slide

It’s Paddy’s day on Thursday and thank goodness for it too, we certainly can’t rely on the Irish weather to cheer us up so we may as well have a day of smiling, drinking and laughing with friends and family :)

To get us in an even more cheerful mood I put together a little tutorial on how to make your own Shamrock Accessory. I hope you like it and give it a go…

It can be worn in your hair…

…or as a brooch.

My First Sale!!

I have just said goodbye to my first ever sale, and just wanted to say a big thank you to the generous buyer, I know it’s going to a good home. It is true that we get attached to the things we create and sometimes it is hard to give them away so I dedicate this post to my beautiful leafed brooch :)

Packaged up ready to go and heavily guarded by a big softy :)

Pyjama Cushion

As I mentioned before I am a bit of a hoarder, especially when it comes to fabrics and clothes, I have piles just waiting to be used in some way.

One type of clothing I especially hoard is pyjama tops. I don’t know about you, but I love my pyjamas bottoms, I spend most of my days in them, but I never wear pyjama tops, so their usually tossed onto the ‘just incase’ fabric pile :)

Pyjama Cushions are so easy to make and because of the soft materials that are used to make them they are great for your bed or for your pets or even as a present for the kids.

If you want to make your own pyjama cushion, here’s how it’s done.

You will need:

• Pyjama Top
• Cushion
• Scissors
• Marker/pen
• Ruler
• Measuring tape
• Pins
• Sewing Machine (optional)

Step 1: Go fish out those pyjama tops or use an old pair you no longer wear. Figaro helped me pick mine.

I've Opened A Shop!!!

Yes that’s right, I have finally opened my very own shop on Coriandr so I can sell some of my jewellery and accessories that I have been working on for a while now.

I’m so excited. It’s great to finally have them out there for everyone to see and so I can receive feedback.

So without further ado let me present to you some of the items I have on display. If you would like to see more please do drop over to the shop and have a look. And why not leave a comment to let me know what you think :)

Thank you for looking.

Blueberry Pancakes

Hi there, I hope you are having a nice Monday. Today we had to take our wee Maggie to the vet to get neutered, and it was extremely sad to watch her little face being carried away. It could have made the toughest man cry. The good side though is that she will be a happier cat when she comes home.

Since tomorrow is Shrove Tuesday, and to take my mind off Maggie, I decided I would get started on making some scrumptious pancakes…

I decided to try something different by mixing blueberries into the pancake batter instead of having them on the side.

If you’re not a big fan of blueberries then why not try using a fruit you do like instead. Or just make ordinary pancakes by following the recipe without adding the blueberries.

Recycled T-Shirt Scarf

Do a spring clean by recycling some old t-shirts.

Today I’m saying goodbye to February and hello to March. I can’t believe how quick this year has gone by so far, but all we can do is chug along and try to keep up.

Now even though we’re in March it’s not quite spring yet, and we still need to keep ourselves wrapped up. So here is a quick and easy tutorial for a stylish and light weight scarf that will come in handy until summer arrives to warm us up.

I have to admit I am a bit of a hoarder so when I saw this project on how to recycle your old t-shirts on Shwim&Shwim I whipped out some old tops I haven’t worn in years and began snipping.

Step 1: Get rummaging into that wardrobe and pick an old top.
